Every year, GVEA awards eight scholarships to local area students. Seven are awarded in April at our annual meeting, and the eighth is awarded in August. To be eligible for a GVEA scholarship, the applicant or a member of the applicant’s immediate family must be a member of Golden Valley Electric Association.
We are currently accepting applications for the following scholarships:
Academic Degree Scholarship ($15,000) … 1 to be Awarded
This is a four-year scholarship awarded to one graduating high school senior each year. Applicant must be pursuing a four-year bachelor’s degree at the University of Alaska.
Academic Scholarship ($2,500) … 3 to be Awarded
This is a non-renewable scholarship awarded to three students each year. Applicant must be pursuing a four-year bachelor degree at an accredited school.
Continuing Education Scholarship ($2,000) … 3 to be Awarded
This is a non-renewable scholarship awarded to three students each year. Current year graduating seniors are not eligible for this scholarship. Applicant must be enrolled as a part-time or full-time student at an accredited school in a program leading towards a bachelor’s or master’s degree.
