September is National Preparedness Month, and on Saturday, September 19, from 10am to 4pm, the third annual Preparedness Expo will be held at the Carlson Center.
This event is being sponsored by the Cities of Fairbanks and North Pole, along with the Borough, State of Alaska and Federal agencies. The main emphasis of the event will be on family emergency preparedness.
For the third consecutive year, GVEA will have a booth and will focus on the use of residential emergency generators.
The free booklet that GVEA offers, Standby Electric Generators for Alaskan Residences, Advice & Installation, has recently been updated and is available in all three GVEA lobbies (Delta, Nenana and Fairbanks), as well as the New Construction Section. The booklet can also be downloaded from GVEA’s external web site: http://gvea.com/resources/outages.
