Good¢ents is a bill round up program through Golden Valley Electric Association. Members’ electric bills are rounded up to the next whole dollar with the remaining cents donated to the separate Good¢ents fund. Since the launch of the program in March 2011, GVEA members have voluntarily contributed $31,500.
A volunteer board of trustees oversees the Good¢ents Foundation and reviews all requests from local non-profits and individuals in need. The trustees received seven applications for request of funds totaling $24,600. After reviewing the applications, the trustees awarded five applicants a total of $15,650.
