Sunday Windstorm Causes Outages for Interior Residents

High winds in the Interior, early Sunday afternoon, caused trees to fall into power lines from Nenana to North Pole. Throughout the night, six crews (11 linemen) have been working the outages that began around 1:44 pm Sunday afternoon. They will continue working until everyone is back on. Currently at 6:45am, Monday morning, 30 members are still without power.

8am update – three outages affecting 8 members are still being worked by 2 crews. This windstorm affected 8,300 members with an average of 2,000 members affected at the peak between 4pm to 4am this morning.
